Jota opened the scoring after bulldozing through two defenders and poking home 23 minutes into the match. Liverpool equalized through Luis Diaz 16 minutes later. Szoboszlai gave Chelsea the lead again a few minutes after half-time, but Liverpool grabbed a point late on thanks to Alisson's penalty save.

The match also marked the debut of Axel Disasi for Chelsea. The defender played well and helped his team earn a point against a strong Liverpool side.
